A goal three minutes from time from Antoine Clarke settled this game, the full back shooting low into the far corner after substitute Makela had crossed from the left.
In a game of few chances, the Bloods has the better chances in the first half, Marsh’s long range effort coming back off the bar while Purdham was forced into a good save from Caddick from close range after Rigby had found the striker with a superb cross field ball in space on the right.
At the other end,the visitors only chance in the first forty five minutes, saw Blackburn shoot wide.
The second half produced little from either side.
Ollie Ford and Faustin Makela we’re introduced to liven things up.
It was the latter’s cross with twelve minutes left, which gave the Bloods their best chance finding Gonzales whose effort whistled past the post.
In the last few minutes the visitors could easily have taken all three points, Thompson saving well from close range from Pratt and then from Clitheroe skipper Jeffries who seemed certain to score from six yards.
From that chance, the home side broke down the left, Rigby who had a busy match throughout putting the ball through to Makela who crossed and found Antoine Clarke who buried the ball in the back of the net to claim the points.
