Ross Davidson’s fifty seven minute strike saw Trafford take all three points at the Butchers Arms on a disappointing afternoon
The Bloods were forced into changes at the back with Shaquille Antoine Clarke playing as centre half and new signings in the week, Andreas Bianga and Harry Pratt coming straight into the side.
The game had burst into life in the first ten minutes, Sam Egerton gave Trafford the lead on seven minutes crashing in the ball at the far post from a corner.
Droylsden could have levelled straight from the restart, Sefton Gonzales through on the keeper but the striker hesitated for two long and Cooper pushed the ball out for a corner.
From the corner, The Bloods levelled Liam Caddick striking his shot through a crowded area as the ball landed at his feet
The striker had a great opportunity to make it two when Cooper’s misclearance landed his feet but failed to capitalise while at the other end, O’Brien’s free header from the corner cleared the cross bar in a half otherwise lacking any clear chances for either side
The second half followed the same pattern with few chances before or after Davidson’s winner.
Late into the game, O’Brien saw another free header from a corner come back off the bar while substitute Rydings should have done better after he broke into the box but with the goal seemingly at his mercy, hesitated for too long.
