A word with Pacey

Manager Dave Pace has just one more pre season friendly coming up before the Bloods open their league campaign against new boys Runcorn Linnets and we briefly caught up with him on Saturday

Despite pre season defeats by Ashton United and Conwy Borough, Dave is seeing some optimistic signs especially in the centre of defence, certainly a problem area last year as Dave says, with four different pairings.

Up front there is, he admits still work to do, and he is the first to admit that the team are not creating a lot of chances and are lacking some firepower.

“By the start of the season, we will be right” says Dave

There is also some changes off the field, visitors will have noticed the ground is getting a bit of a much needed spruce up and the introduction of a new commercial role has, says Pacey, “given me a bit of a kick up the backside”

There is a real positivity around the club,he adds, saying there needs to be if we are gong to win that title.
“You don’t come into any season without the ambition of winning the title and that’s what I want to do but adding that he feels that the league will be harder than last season-”

Any clubs he has a particular eye on for challenging? “No” says Dave, “ I am only interested in getting the Bloods to win the league, if we get it right on and off the field, then we will succeed.”
